The Beer Brewing Process
... Or brewing for software engineers.
The brewing process I typically use. There are lots of variations but this is the general idea. For example, many people use a two stage fermentation (I do sometimes) where you siphon from the primary fermenter to the secondary in order to clear the beer. Also if you don't use kegs then the bit just before serving will be a little different.
I haven't shown the recirculation of wort back into the mashtun before running the wort into the kettle. Since the first litre or so are a bit cloudy while the grain bed settles, pouring it back into the mashtun helps get clearer wort into the kettle (assuming you don't stir it all up again while pouring).
